Video Transcript: Hi, I'm Chris Eboch with Write Better Right Now. I'm the author of over 100 books for young people, including fiction and nonfiction for educational publishers, some ghostwriting of mystery series for kids, and several middle grade and young adult novels.
I also write mystery and romance for adults as Kris Bock, and as of right now, I have two dozen books published and five more under contract. My goal with this Substack is to share short lessons, so that instead of giving, say, a three-hour plotting workshop, which I have done, it'll be bite -sized pieces, each lesson designed to be completed in about 15 minutes.
So we might spend a whole month looking at fast starts and ways to grab your reader's attention right away, and then several lessons looking at what your first chapter promises and how you make sure that you're setting up the right promise for what you deliver.
You’ll get lots of tips, both for big picture and for line-by-line writing. I’ll share things that you can practice in one lesson in 15 minutes and then use in your writing right away so it won't be overwhelming, the way that a longer program or a whole conference can be.
Paid subscribers will also be able to send in short pitches or first pages that I will critique in the newsletter, and they can send in questions for possible answer in the newsletter. Plus, I'll share some other resources or short tips that I've found helpful.
If this sounds good to you, then please join me for Write Better Right Now.
